源起

企業要轉型升級才有經營利基，同樣地獎項的選拔也要不斷改良，方能宏觀的永續經營，在這樣的理念下，本會戴勝通理事長以現有國家磐石獎的基礎，於民國 88 年創辦海外台商磐石獎選拔活動，藉此表彰海外經營有成的台商企業，促進與國內企業商機交流與技術合作，並提升華人在國際社會的地位與形象；從此磐石獎的選拔走向國際，與國際社會接軌。

Origin of the award

Enterprises should transform and upgrades to gets the niche of operating; the selection of the award should be continuously improved to be sustainable operation. According to the idea, in 1999, "The Outstanding Overseas Taiwanese SMEs Award" was established, which was based on the foundation of "The National Award of Outstanding SMEs". Whereby commend the outstanding overseas enterprises, to promote business exchanges and technical cooperation opportunities with domestic enterprises, and to enhance the status and image in the international community.

參選資格

（一）成立滿5年之台商企業（由該申請年度向前推算，且在6月30日以前成立之企業）。

（二）最近3年（由該申請年度向前推算）連續獲利或營運成長狀況佳。

（三）對台灣或僑居地等國際社會有顯著貢獻之企業。

  註：本獎項系由僑務委員會補助辦理，目前尚未包含大陸及港澳地區之台商。

Apply qualification：

 (A) Has been founded in 5 years of Taiwanese enterprise.

 (B) Continuously profit or operated well in last 3 years.

 (C) Has a significant contribution to Taiwan or residing country in international society.

 Note: This award is subsidized by OCAC, not include the enterprise in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau at present.
